Persimmon Creek Camp Ground 200 Sunny Point Rd, Murphy, NC 28906-7378 Persimmon Creek - Sep 19, 2009
We stayed at Persimmon Creek in September of 2009. The area was spacious, well manicured and alongside a wonderful creek. Our tent was setup 10 feet from the rushing waters of the creek, which made for wonderful sleeping. There are plenty of activities near the campsite. The staff was accomodating and friendly. They can help plan your activities if needed. Accomodations are ready for any style of camping from RV to Tent. Highest Recommendations!
This review was posted by visitors from the Wilmington area. We really appreciate their kind words, and hope to see them back again this summer.
This next review was from a family in Georgia; we didn't want them to leave either:-):

We stayed at this campsite over Thanksgiving break. This is one of the better private campgrounds as each site is not on top of one another. The site accommodated our 33' 5th wheel without problems. We spent each morning fishing in the pond and my boys caught several fish (even though it was pretty cold). Each site has a fire pit available and a sturdy picnic table. I would stay at Persimmon Creek Campground again. I look forward to more fresh eggs if they still have them for sale. The hosts/owners are extremely personable and available if you need them.

There is a new campground on the way to the Ocoee. Persimmon Creek Campground is run by two of the nicest people you will ever meet. Karen and Tony will do everything within their power to see that you enjoy staying with them. They do not have a shower yet (should be up and running in the next couple of months) but until it is complete, you can use the ones at Ocoee River Adventures.
They are located between Murphy and Ducktown and its about 13 miles to the put-in. Nice big, flat sites. Very reasonably priced. Super nice people, if you meet them you will not want to stay anywhere else.

Thank you Chad and Jennie! It is great to make new friends. We love seeing you!
GS Troop 2052 stayed with us 6/5/10. We are so glad they had a great time!
Tony and Karen really took good care of us at Persimmon Creek Campground. They have set up their camp to be just like camping used to be, quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The sites are spacious and nice with full 50 amp hookups available. The fishing was great and fun and our dogs enjoyed the great outdoors with plenty of room to romp. We give them a 10 for those who are looking to stay a spell or just passing through. So convenient, we had access to seemingly everything. A great visit ,with great service, we will be back.

I just found this posted on David Hubbard's Blog. We really appreciate the kind words. Chris and Ann live in the best possibly named town, because they are two of the most genuinely NICE people Tony and I have ever met! We look forward to seeing them (and the dogs) again!
Hi, Karen! We wanted you to know we really enjoyed our time at your piece of paradise, and we plan to be back October 16th through the 21st (7 nights). Our 25th anniversary is the 19th, and what better place to spend it than Murphy? We're also toying with the idea of a late December visit.
For the October trip Larry asked to reserve Lot 5, unless you have a drive through, full hookup lot ready by then.
Also, the new pictures on your website are great! You must be so glad you didn't dig up the iris!
You got so busy as our week went on that I didn't get to tell you two things that delighted me. I finally went to the wonderful museum in Murphy, where I met Fred, who said he's a friend of yours and bought a trailer from you. He's a charming man and an asset to the museum. Secondly, I saw a chipmunk on your property! We were on the driveway, near the honeymoon spot, and the little guy was scrambling on the hill beside the road. Another plus for your campground!
Last, I wanted you to read what my friend, Betsy, wrote about Persimmon Creek on her blog:
Tuesday, June 1
Well, it's back to work after a long Memorial weekend for many people.............not us though. Our friends, Pat and Larry from FL, spent a well-deserved relaxing week at a campground here in Murphy, just 7 miles from the TN border. I forgot to bring my camera when we drove out there so no pics. It's the nicest area I've seen to camp around here. It's the old-fashioned campground feeling that I had when my mother took my sister and me to Sebago Lake in ME when we were kids. No concrete slabs. It's a small campground with a winding trout creek, trees to shade the tents and RV's, geese, ducks, chickens and roosters that wander around greeting vacationers and a little llama or alpaca farm nearby........ sorry you're back to work, guys....... the mountains miss you.
Not as much as we miss them!
Pat
Pat and Larry are going to be full timers here in Murphy one day. We loved having them stay with us, and look forward to them being practically around the corner one day. Betsy is Betsy Lucht of Murphy. Although we did not get a chance to meet her, we hope to one day soon. A huge thank you to Pat, Larry and Betsy for all their kind words and wishes for us!
We made Persimmon Creek Campground our home during our 2010 summer vacation so that we could enjoy sight seeing and all the adventurous activities the area has to offer. The location allowed us to white water raft, horse back ride, fish, hike and sight see all within 15 minutes of the campground. We were impressed by the friendly and personable touch the owners offered. They were there for anything you needed! They even came by one night to fix our campfire that we couldn't seem to get going. Persimmon Creek Campground is truly a camping experience you dream of!
Thank you, Karen & Tony! We'll be back!
Stacy
Stacy, Gregg and Alex were amazing campers. As a family, they made every minute count! We really hated to see them leave, and hope they will be back for more adventures when able to make the trek from Palm Beach again.
Thu and friends camped with us the weekend of September 17. Great group out of Georgia that we hope to see again soon!
Just wanted to let you guys know how much we all LOVED your campground! We had such a great time! You guys were so helpful, laid back, and accommodating. Our experienced surpassed even our highest expectations and we can't wait to get back there soon!
Thank you!
This next email is from Joyce Bruneau. She and her husband stayed with us in October. We enjoyed their company, and look forward to seeing them again.
Please let us know if you enjoyed your stay, or ways in which we can improve. We will post your email here. Thank you to all who have stayed with us, and your kind comments. You keep us going!
